Electro Hydraulic Power Steering Pump - 12V

The electric Hydraulic Power Steering Pump assembly includes a motor and a controller, and also includes a drive bracket that includes a copper conductor and an outer insulating sleeve wrapped around the copper conductor. Electric power steering motor

After the drive wheel drives the rotor to rotate, the blades open under the action of centrifugal force, forming a working chamber with the stator, rotor, and oil distribution plate. When the rotor and blades rotate from the small arc area of the inner surface of the stator to the large arc area, the volume between the two blades increases and the pressure decreases. Oil is drawn in through the oil inlet of the oil distribution plate; when moving from the large arc area to the small arc area, the volume between the two blades decreases and the pressure increases. Oil is discharged through the oil outlet of the pressure plate. The discharged high-pressure oil enters the steering gear through the steering oil pipe, playing a role in steering assistance.

The power steering pump is usually located in the engine compartment. It uses hydraulic power, driven by the car's engine through a belt and pulley system. This pushes fluid into retractable blades in the steering box, which in turn helps keep your steering nice and light. The blade pump generally consists of a pump body with an inner cavity of double arc curves, a slotted rotor, blades, and other components. Some are installed on the flywheel housing at the rear end of the engine and are also driven by timing gears. When the engine operates, it drives the rotor of the booster pump to rotate, and the blades move outward along the blade slots under the action of centrifugal force, approaching the inner wall of the pump body. During the rotation of the rotor, the enclosed volume between the blades continuously increases and decreases, achieving the process of oil suction and oil pressure. Each rotation of the rotor completes both oil suction and oil pressure twice. There is also a safety valve in the pump body to limit the maximum pressure. When the external load of the steering system increases, causing the oil pressure to rise to a certain value, the safety valve opens to unload the load. A throttle valve and a flow control valve are also installed in the pump body to ensure that the displacement of the booster pump remains basically stable.

In developed countries, the installation rate of power steering in both large and small vehicles has approached 100%. Currently, many domestic car models have begun to adopt power steering. The steering pump should be securely mounted on the pump bracket, ensuring that the pump pulley, engine crankshaft pulley, and tension pulley are on the same plane. The belt should be tensioned using a tension pulley or other tensioning methods. Tension force: New belt: 45~55 kgf, Old belt: 35~45 kgf.

Inspection Analysis: The bracket on the installation pump is loose; the oil level in the power steering system is too low or there is insufficient air; the filter element in the oil cup is very dirty, leading to insufficient oil suction by the steering pump. The internal cleanliness of the power steering system is poor, resulting in excessive wear of the stator, rotor, oil distributor, end cover, and oil pump input shaft.

The power steering pump noise is good.

Under the premise that other components are fault-free, check whether the steering fluid is insufficient, whether there is air in the hydraulic system, and whether the steering system is too dirty, causing the steering pump flow control valve to jam.

Affordable Power Steering Pump

The power steering system consists of the steering oil tank 1, steering pump 2, steering pipeline 3, and power steering device 4. During the operation of the steering system, the steering pump continuously works with the rotation of the engine, sucking oil from the tank and supplying it to the control valve of the power steering device. When there is no steering action, the control valve is in a normally open middle position, and the oil directly returns to the steering oil tank through the control valve.

The power steering system includes the steering pump, hydraulic cylinder, and hydraulic control valve. When the driver turns the steering wheel, the steering pump draws hydraulic oil from the reservoir and directs it to the hydraulic cylinder. The pressure of the hydraulic oil causes the piston of the hydraulic cylinder to move left or right, turning the wheels.

Power steering pump with a good warranty period

The mechanical hydraulic power system mainly includes the rack and pinion steering structure and the hydraulic system (hydraulic power pump, hydraulic cylinder, piston, etc.). Its working principle is that the hydraulic pump (driven by the engine belt) provides oil pressure to push the piston, which in turn generates auxiliary force to push the steering rod, assisting the steering of the wheels.

Efficient Power Steering Pump

When installing the steering pump, consider whether there is any trapped air inside the pump body, and take venting measures if necessary. Air should be expelled from the steering system, usually it is sufficient to vent air from the oil outlet of the steering pump. The specific method is to loosen the oil outlet joint while the engine is not running, and then tighten it if there is any oil leakage. At this point, start the engine and turn the steering wheel left and right; all the air will be expelled into the oil reservoir and released into the air through the breather.
