High-quality hydraulic power steering pump

High-quality hydraulic power steering pump

From the perspective of drive type, hydraulic power steering pumps can be divided into gear-driven steering pumps, belt-driven steering pumps, and cross-key (spline) steering pumps. Among them, belt-driven steering pumps are mainly used for passenger cars with lower torque, while gear-driven and cross-key steering pumps are more commonly used in commercial vehicles.

    Description
What is the classification of hydraulic power steering pumps?
      1. From the perspective of vehicle types, hydraulic power steering pumps can be divided into commercial vehicle pumps and passenger vehicle pumps.
      2. From the structural form, hydraulic power steering pumps can be divided into vane pumps, gear pumps, and piston pumps. Among them, vane pumps are widely used in various vehicle types due to their small size, low noise, and high volumetric efficiency.
      3. From the drive form, hydraulic power steering pumps can be divided into gear-driven steering pumps, belt-driven steering pumps, and cross-key (spline) steering pumps. Among them, belt-driven steering pumps are mainly used for passenger cars with lower drive torque, while gear-driven and cross-key steering pumps are more commonly used in commercial vehicles.

    Steering Noise
      1. Fault Symptoms. Excessive noise when the car turns.
      2. Fault Causes. Loose transmission components in the mechanical steering system lead to excessive steering noise; damage or severe wear of the power steering pump; loose or slipping drive pulley of the power steering pump causing excessive noise; poor performance of the steering control valve; loose hose joints or ruptured hoses allowing air to enter the hydraulic system, causing excessive noise; clogged oil filter or excessive sediment in the hydraulic circuit.
      3. Fault Diagnosis: When steering noise occurs, the following methods can be used for diagnosis:
      (a) If there is a "click" sound when steering, it may be due to looseness in the steering column shaft joint, loose tie rod, or loose ball joint. The above components should be checked, and if necessary, tighten or replace damaged parts; if the steering column shaft swings severely, replace the steering column assembly; if the steering gear is installed too loosely, please tighten it; lubrication points at the joints should be lubricated as necessary.
      (b) If there is a "click" sound during steering, and the noise is louder when the steering wheel turns from one extreme position to another, it may be caused by slipping of the power steering pump drive belt. At this time, check the tightness and wear of the drive belt, and if necessary, tighten or replace the drive belt.
      (c) When the steering wheel is at the limit position or slowly turning to position, if the steering gear emits a severe "hissing" sound, it may be due to poor performance of the steering control valve. The control valve should be replaced for comparative inspection to determine the fault.
