Electric oil pump (EOP) with part number FDB107A is applied for constantly variable transmission to realize the function of auxiliary cooling and auxiliary lubrication. Motor type selection:

According to different standards, motors are classified into various types, such as DC motors, AC motors, synchronous motors, asynchronous motors, permanent magnet motors, excitation motors, and so on. Brushless DC motor (BLDCM) is recommended for automatic transmission electric oil pump. The main reasons are:

(1) Power supply type: BLDCM adopts DC power supply, which can directly use on-board batteries as power supply;

(2) Fast response speed: The BLDCM belongs to a synchronous motor, and its response speed can reach within 50 ms, which can quickly establish oil pressure and improve the response speed of the automatic transmission;

(3) Wide range of speed regulation: BLDCM uses PWM to adjust the input voltage, which can operate at any speed from 0 to the maximum speed, providing the required flow for the system;

(4) High speed control accuracy: BLDCM has a built-in Hall sensor that can accurately control the speed of the motor, providing stable flow and pressure for the automatic transmission;

(5) High efficiency: Compared to asynchronous induction motors, BLDCM uses permanent magnets as its rotors, which do not require electrical excitation (this loss accounts for about 20-30% of the total loss of the motor);

(6) Low noise: BLDCM has no brush friction and low noise;

(7) Long service life: BLDCM has no brush wear, greatly extending its service life, and is a maintenance free motor.
