Automotive hydraulic power steering pump
The power steering pump pressurizes the hydraulic oil, assisting the driver in turning the steering wheel. Signs of a steering pump failure include leaks, noise, or reduced assistance when steering. An immediate loss of power assistance is more likely a sign of a broken drive belt or loss of steering fluid. Most vehicles use this mechanical/hydraulic power steering system, but a small number of cars use electric pumps since the pump also affects power and efficiency when the vehicle is not turning; many new cars now have electric power steering systems.
Best performance power steering pump
The term "hydraulic" is just a fancy word for using liquids, which can refer to water, oil, etc. In this case, we use bright pink hydraulic steering fluid for our car.
Modern Hydraulic Power Steering Pump
The steering pump should be securely mounted on the pump bracket, ensuring that the pump pulley, engine crankshaft pulley, and tension pulley are on the same plane. The belt should be tensioned using a tension pulley or other tensioning methods. Tension force: New belt: 45~55 kgf, Old belt: 35~45 kgf.
Efficient Power Steering Pump
Inspection Analysis: The bracket on the installation pump is loose; the oil level in the power steering system is too low or there is insufficient air; the filter element in the oil cup is very dirty, leading to insufficient oil suction by the steering pump. The internal cleanliness of the power steering system is poor, resulting in excessive wear of the stator, rotor, oil distributor, end cover, and oil pump input shaft.
The power steering pump noise is good.
Under the premise that other components are fault-free, check whether the steering fluid is insufficient, whether there is air in the hydraulic system, and whether the steering system is too dirty, causing the steering pump flow control valve to jam.
Affordable Power Steering Pump
The power steering system consists of the steering oil tank 1, steering pump 2, steering pipeline 3, and power steering device 4. During the operation of the steering system, the steering pump continuously works with the rotation of the engine, sucking oil from the tank and supplying it to the control valve of the power steering device. When there is no steering action, the control valve is in a normally open middle position, and the oil directly returns to the steering oil tank through the control valve.
Quality assured power steering pump
The power steering system includes the steering pump, hydraulic cylinder, and hydraulic control valve. When the driver turns the steering wheel, the steering pump draws hydraulic oil from the reservoir and directs it to the hydraulic cylinder. The pressure of the hydraulic oil causes the piston of the hydraulic cylinder to move left or right, turning the wheels.
Power steering pump with a good warranty period
The mechanical hydraulic power system mainly includes the rack and pinion steering structure and the hydraulic system (hydraulic power pump, hydraulic cylinder, piston, etc.). Its working principle is that the hydraulic pump (driven by the engine belt) provides oil pressure to push the piston, which in turn generates auxiliary force to push the steering rod, assisting the steering of the wheels.
When installing the steering pump, consider whether there is any trapped air inside the pump body, and take venting measures if necessary. Air should be expelled from the steering system, usually it is sufficient to vent air from the oil outlet of the steering pump. The specific method is to loosen the oil outlet joint while the engine is not running, and then tighten it if there is any oil leakage. At this point, start the engine and turn the steering wheel left and right; all the air will be expelled into the oil reservoir and released into the air through the breather.
Design a robust power steering pump
When the engine is rotating while stationary, the increase in pressure within the pump causes the engine speed to decrease, which may lead to the engine stalling. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the engine speed. When a certain pressure is generated within the pump, the pressure switch is activated, transmitting data to the engine ECU and opening a portion of the throttle valve, thereby serving to increase the speed.
The noise of the power steering pump is good.
After determining the actual flow requirements and control flow for the power steering system, the displacement of the power steering pump should only meet the flow requirements at different speeds and should not be too large. Excessive flow not only wastes engine power but also increases the internal circulation of the pump system, leading to excessively high system oil temperatures, which reduces the lifespan of the power steering pump and the entire steering system.
OEM quality power steering pump
Currently, the automotive steering pump is mostly a double-acting vane type steering pump, mainly composed of a standard double-acting vane pump, a flow control valve, and a pressure safety valve; the double-acting vane pump provides high-pressure oil. The flow control valve ensures that the steering pump outputs a flow suitable for the vehicle's needs. The pressure safety valve controls the maximum output pressure of the steering pump. For gasoline engines with lower power, a pressure switch should also be equipped.
