In order to adapt to the development of the medium and heavy truck market and meet the auxiliary braking needs of the entire vehicle in terms of safe driving, DARE AUTO began to establish a Hydraulic Retarder product research and development team in the North American R&D Center in 2012 and collect relevant product research and development data. The main members of the team are technical engineer from Europe and North America who has lots of experiences in hydraulic retarder product engineering. It has taken nearly 10 years to develop a hydraulic retarder suitable for matching heavy trucks with the mature research and development experience of European hydraulic retarder products. After nearly a decade of development, it has now been iteratively updated to the second generation of products, at the same level as well-known foreign brands. It has independent intellectual property rights and has applied for 22 patents, including 6 invention patents and 1 appearance patent.

Feedback on problems in the field of retarders and corrective and preventive measures:

1. Is it difficult to disassemble the retarder and interfere with the transmission shaft?

Solution: Design to reduce the overall size of the retarder, increase the spacing between the retarder and the transmission shaft, and facilitate installation and maintenance

2. During operation, individual electromagnetic proportional valves may become stuck, affecting the use of the retarder?

Solution: Due to impurities entering the air inlet of the proportional valve during the modification process, a filter screen is designed and installed at the air inlet of the proportional valve.

3. After using about 200000 kilometers, did you find that the braking torque of the retarder has decreased somewhat?

Solution: Normally, in order to ensure the continuous stability of the braking torque of the retarder, it is required to replace the oil once every 100000 kilometers. This problem can be solved by replacing with new oil.
