The function of the automotive Electronic Water Pump is to pressurize the coolant and ensure its circulation in the cooling system. Generally speaking, it allows the water to continuously circulate through various parts of the radiator engine block to carry away heat, ensuring that the engine does not overheat.
In the cylinder block of an automobile engine, there is a water channel for cooling water circulation, which is connected to the radiator (commonly known as the water tank) located in the front of the vehicle through a water pipe, forming a large water circulation system. At the upper outlet of the engine, a water pump is installed, which is driven by a fan belt to pump out the hot water in the water channel of the engine block and pump in cold water.
There is also a thermostat next to the water pump. When the car is just started (cold), it does not open, allowing the cooling water to pass through the water tank, but only circulate within the engine (commonly known as a small cycle). When the temperature of the engine reaches 80 degrees Celsius or above, it opens, and the hot water in the engine is pumped into the water tank. When the car moves forward, the cold wind blows through the water tank, taking away heat. This is basically how it works.
