Structure and working principle of Electronic Water Pump
The water pump is an important component of the automotive engine cooling system, and its main function is to drive the circulation of the coolant, absorb excess heat from the engine, and transmit it to the external air through a heat dissipation device to avoid excessive engine temperature. High engine temperature can reduce the lubricating capacity of the engine oil, leading to increased wear of the components. High temperatures to a certain value can lead to serious faults such as engine cylinder pulling or tile burning, ultimately leading to engine burnout and scrapping.
Water pumps are divided into traditional mechanical water pumps and electronic water pumps. The traditional engine generally uses a mechanical water pump, which is driven by a pulley to rotate the pump bearing and impeller. The coolant in the water pump is driven and rotated by the impeller, and is used to the edge of the water pump housing under the action of centrifugal force, generating a constant pressure, and then flows out from the outlet channel or water pipe.

Automotive electronic water pumps, many new energy vehicles, motor homes, and other special vehicles are commonly used as micro water pumps for water circulation, cooling, or on-board water supply systems. This micro self priming pump is collectively referred to as automotive water pumps.
The working principle of an automotive electronic water pump is as follows: The circular motion of the motor causes the membrane inside the pump to reciprocate through a mechanical device, thereby compressing and stretching the air in the pump chamber (fixed volume). Under the action of a one-way valve, a positive pressure is formed at the outlet (the actual output pressure is related to the assistance received at the pump outlet and the characteristics of the pump);
A vacuum is formed at the water inlet, creating a pressure difference with the outside atmospheric pressure. Under the effect of pressure difference, the water pressure is injected into the water inlet and then discharged from the water outlet. Under the action of kinetic energy transmitted by the motor, water is continuously sucked in and discharged, forming a relatively stable flow rate.
Auto water pumps generally have a self priming function, which means that when air is in the pump's suction pipe, the negative pressure (vacuum) generated during pump operation is used to raise the water pressure below the water inlet under the action of atmospheric pressure, and then discharge it from the discharge end of the pump. There is no need to add "water diversion" before this process. A micro water pump with this self priming capability is called a "micro self priming pump". The principle is similar to a micro air pump.
