Currently, most automotive steering pumps are double-acting vane pumps, mainly composed of a standard double-acting vane pump, flow control valve, and pressure safety valve; the double-acting vane pump provides high-pressure oil. The flow control valve ensures that the steering pump outputs a flow suitable for the vehicle's needs. The pressure safety valve controls the maximum output pressure of the steering pump. For gasoline engines with lower power, a pressure switch should also be equipped.

You can find the steering pump attached to the car engine, usually next to the car alternator and air conditioning compressor. We connect the steering pump to the engine using a pulley mechanism driven by the engine belt.
When your car engine is running, the engine belt rotates in a cycle, also turning the steering pump. This way, the pump draws steering fluid from the reservoir and pressurizes it.
