    The design requirements for automotive automatic transmission oil pumps are: to meet the pressure and flow requirements, the volume should be as small as possible, the energy consumption should be as low as possible, the noise should be as small as possible, and the reliability should be as high as possible.
    The oil pumps used in automatic transmissions are all positive displacement oil pumps. Its principle is that when the sealing volume changes from small to large, the sealing volume decreases internally, and the liquid at the oil inlet enters the sealing volume under the action of external pressure (usually atmospheric pressure). When the sealing volume changes from large to small, the pressure within the sealing volume increases, squeezing the hydraulic oil within the sealing volume out of the oil outlet.

    Oil pump location

    Oil pump assembly
    After the examination and repair procedures, it is necessary to assemble the automatic transmission oil pump. The assembly is performed in the following order:
    - Install the inner and outer gears in the pump body one-by-one;
    - Adjust the shaft to the holes of fastening bolts;
    - Screw in bolts and carefully tighten them;
    - Make sure that the inner gear does not stick when rotating.
